How to Prepare for Workplace Collections
These guidelines help ensure a smooth collection:
Check What We Take
Check our main list below to confirm that we recycle your items. Organisations need at least five items from the main list. Add-ons such as monitors don't count.
Ensure Level Access
We require lifts or level access to ensure our safety and yours. For OHS requirements, we do not take electronics on stairs.
Provide Parking
We need a loading dock or on-site parking with at least 2m clearance. If this isn't available, items may need to be brought to the collection vehicle.
Clean and Box
All items should be clean, grouped in a box or bag, or in a clean pile on a table. We will not empty bins or pull from piles of general waste.
Unlock Your Devices
If you remove BIOS locks and cloud accounts, devices can be reused. Data-bearing devices are reset, securely erased or physically destroyed.
Remove Soft Plastics
We don't collect original product boxes, plastic wrapping, styrofoam or other packaging. Please remove these from the electronics before our arrival.
Requirements for Certificates of Data Destruction
Certificates of data destruction are available to organisations by prior request. Select the certificate option on the booking form to start the process.
If you'd like device IDs or serial numbers listed on your certificate, email the list to support@whirlrecycling.com before collection. We do not record serial numbers on site.
Print a copy of the list to give to our driver on arrival. They'll confirm receipt of the listed devices to start the audit trail.
Once the data-destruction process is complete, we'll issue a certificate. There is no fee for the certificate.

Pallets and Large Loads
We can collect palletised equipment. Pallet transport may involve an agreed charge; otherwise items can be hand-loaded into our vehicle. We can manage single loads of approximately 25 tonnes using our logistics partners.
