From a small batch of devices to an entire office, data-bearing equipment is reset, securely erased or physically destroyed, depending on the equipment and your requirements. Certificates are available to organisations by prior request.

How we handle data

The ISO 14001, AS/NZS 5377, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 certifications shown are held by our downstream recycling partner, not by Whirl Recycling.

We prioritise reuse wherever possible.

Items that can't be reused are responsibly recycled through our licensed and accredited recycling partners.

Reusable devices are normally factory reset before reuse, and reusable drives may be securely wiped and reused unless you request physical destruction. Data-bearing parts that can't be reused are physically destroyed through the crushing and material-recovery process.

Do you securely destroy data?

Yes. Certified secure erasure or physical destruction is available to organisations on request. Shredding is also available at additional cost.

Do you take monitors?

Yes, with qualifying items. Monitors don't count towards the five-item minimum.

Is there a minimum requirement for collection?

Yes. Workplace collections require at least five items from our main list. Add-ons don't count towards the minimum.

Can you collect pallets?

Yes. Pallet transport may involve an agreed charge; otherwise items can be hand-loaded.

Why don't you take wrapping, cardboard or soft plastics?

We collect electronics, not packaging. Please remove product packaging before collection. Boxes or bags used to group items may be left behind.
